Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

This past week, our family went through a really big change.

Andrew no longer works for Chick-fil-A and has started working at BMW.

He has been going through the hiring process with BMW since early September, and this week he finally started. I never realized how intense the hiring process is. After an interview, a "rim-mount" assessment, a written test, a physical; including EKG, stress test and hair sample drug analysis, he was offered a job.

He will be working 4 days a week! That means 3 days off!!!

And this is where he will be working. We also found out that he gets an entire week off at Christmas and forth of July! He also gets Thanksgiving and the day after off! We are so excited about all the time off he will be getting.

Since we have been married, he has always worked in a restaurant. So he has always worked holidays. We have never been able to spend Christmas Eve together. There were even some years when he worked at Ryan's that he had to work all day on Thanksgiving. He has always had to work the day after Thanksgiving, and the day after Christmas.

This job is such an answer to prayer and we are so excited about how God has answered our prayers.

While I'm Waiting...

Last night at Bible study, we learned about waiting. We are currently on the 5th Chapter of Ester. Beth Moore did a great job of addressing the topic of having to wait. In Ester Chapter 5, it shows the importance of timing and waiting. There were four main points she made.
The importance of knowing:
1. When it's time
2. When it's time to wait
3. When it's time to wait for someone else's time.
4. When the meantime is God's time.

Isaiah 40:31 "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

The key is to Wait upon the LORD - not wait for the thing or the event that you have been praying for, wait upon the LORD. His timing is always perfect.

Andrew and I have been in the waiting process for a long time. Andrew started working with Chick-fil-A 3 years ago, in the hopes to one day become a Chick-fil-A operator. We knew it would be a long process, but we weren't sure just how long. Every time it seems he makes progress toward getting his own store, there are setbacks. Last night's Bible study really hit home. The funny thing is that Beth Moore said in the video that Chapter 5 is not going to be the chapter you look back on, and see where you really saw God working in the book of Ester. But I disagree, this Chapter showed me the importance of waiting, which is exactly what I needed to hear last night.

This song was in the Movie Fire Proof, and is a great song. Please listen to it, and really hear the message.

I just have to remember, God is never inactive, the longer we wait, the harder He is working!

He's Home!!

After being in Virginia since January 30th, Andrew is home!! It was a long month. As of right now, he is back working at his "home" store in Shelby. Hopefully by the end of this week we will know where he will be spending the next few months. The thing about being a Chick-fil-A Interim Manager is, you never know where you are going to be working, or how long you will be there. I'm just so glad to have him home for now. The bed is a lot warmer at night, with him next to me.

On the Road Again

We found out last night, that Andrew will be traveling for work through the whole month of February. He will be in Martinsville, VA, working at the Liberty Fair Mall Chick-fil-A. This is just one step closer to him becoming a Chick-fil-A operator. I am so proud of him, and I know he will do a fantastic job in Virginia.

Exciting News!!!

Starting tomorrow, Andrew will be running the Chick-fil-A at the Greenwood Mall. It is only an interim position right now, but this will lead into great things for him. I am so excited that this is finally happening. He started with Chick-fil-A two years ago, and it seemed like this day would never come. So, if you are ever in Greenwood, stop by the mall and say hello to Andrew.

I will post more details as them become available. I am so proud of him and happy that all his hard work is starting to pay off. He is very excited about this opportunity.

We met the President... of Chick-fil-A!

Last Tuesday, Andrew and I had the opportunity to meet Dan Cathy, the President of Chick-fil-A. His father is Truett Cathy, the founder of Chick-fil-A! It was an incredible opportunity to be able to meet him. He invited us to sit and eat with him and his team. He talked to us and really wanted to get to know us. What an honor. With the way things are headed for Andrew within the Chick-fil-A organization, I know that this was the first of many meetings with Dan Cathy.
