Oh Christmas Tree!

Last Thursday evening, we finally made it over to Lowe's to get our Christmas tree. I think this is the latest we have ever gotten our tree. But with being gone for Thanksgiving, we couldn't go when we normally do. I know Lowe's isn't the most exciting place to get a Christmas tree, but it works for us and we have been doing it for years.

This year, Michael wanted a BIG TREEE! So we went over to the 6'-7' section and found the biggest one in that price range.

Michael took a picture of us. It's a little blurry, but we are both in the picture, so that's a plus!

Smooching under the Mistletoe!

Michael wanted to decorate as soon as we got home, but told him he would have to wait till Friday after school.

Andrew went ahead and put the lights on it, so it would be all ready to go when Michael got home from school the next day.

As soon as he got home from school, Michael started decorating the tree!

He did great! And loved being up high on the step ladder.

I think it turned out beautiful!

And just a side note, getting out all of our Christmas ornaments is one of my favorite things about Christmas. They all tell a story, or bring back a happy or exciting memory! It's like a little scrapbook of our family. Our first Christmas together! Different trips we have taken! Michael's first Christmas! There are a few tears shed too, like when I put up the Toby ornaments! I still miss my Toby!

So that's our tree this year! And we love it!

Oh Christmas Tree!

The day after Thanksgiving, when Andrew got home from work, we headed to "The Man Store" (Lowe's) To pick out a Christmas Tree.
Michael was pretty excited about it, but was a little concerned about how big the tree would be. Once we got there, he had zero interest in actually picking out a tree, and was running all over Lowe's!
That is, until I found the little trees! Then he was so excited! We let him pick out his very own little tree. He insisted on carrying it around, and would not let us help him, or put it down!
He carried it all the way to the car, and when we got to the car and Andrew was tying the big one to the roof, he made sure we knew that his tree could fit inside the van.

When we got home, we put little colored lights on his tree, and now every day, his job is to turn on his tree lights! He is so proud!

Our big tree turned out pretty nice too. Although it is losing needles by the hundreds everyday! I really hope it still has some on it on Christmas morning!
