Eat-in Kitchen

Our kitchen has a very small area that is supposed to be big enough to eat in, but we have never been able to use it for that. When we bought the house, the previous owners left this cabinet/bar thing there, so we just left it since we have a dining room, and that is where our table and chairs are. As you can see, the bar ends up being a "catch-all" and really doesn't serve a purpose. I have wanted to find a table small enought to fit there for a long time but never really wanted to spend the money.

Well, Andrew's dad ran across some booths, tables, and chairs that were donated by a local Chick-fil-A. He was telling us about them, and I thought it would be great to have a booth in the kitchen. Andrew didn't fight it, so I went to pick them up Wednesday afternoon.

So, what do you think of my new eating area? I think it is great! Especially for when Michael is older and out of a high chair.

Not the traditional eat-in kitchen furniture, but I think it is great!

A Work in Progress

Last Friday night, Andrew and I went and picked up the nursery furniture! I was so excited to finally get started on Michael's nursery.

We ordered it from JC Penny's and this is how it arrived:

Here he is putting together the crib. It was a lot easier than the dresser.

And the crib all put together. Since Michael is still sleeping in our room, his crib is just holding some things for us, that i still need to put away.

Here they are together. I think they look great.

The nursery is no where near being done, but it is getting closer. We still need to get his bedding, and decide what is going on the walls. We are going to wait till after our showers to order any of the bedding, just in case someone does buy us part of the set as a gift.

I need to say a big thank you to mt wonderful in-laws for buying us the furniture! You are so generous, and we are very grateful!! Thanks Mimi and Poppa!
Second, to Andrew! Thank you for putting together the furniture!! I know it was time-consuming, but Michael and I both appreciate it! We love you Daddy!
