Halloween 2016

We had a great Halloween this year!!
Michael got to help carve the pumpkin this year!
He drew out the face all by himself!
Michael was pretty proud of himself!

J loved looking at his pumpkin's face. He was very curious about what was inside too!
They turned out pretty awesome! And look great all lit up!

Halloween night!

My cute police officer and baby giraffe!

He loved his little costume! And he figured out trick or treating really quickly!

Why does my 6 year old suddenly look 13?!?!
He was pretty proud of himself!

Look at that cute little giraffe head!

And he wanted a picture without his hat on.

We didn't do any trunk or treats this year, we only went out halloween night. But we still came home with a ton of candy!
J was so cute trick or treating! I tried to get him to say "Trick or Treat", but all he would say was Thank You! Which is good I guess. He would also say "more" as soon as we started walking away from someone's house. He was ready to move on to the next stop and get more candy! We also caught him trying to eat his candy through the wrappers! After looking at his candy the next day, I found several pieces with big teeth marks in them.

And because I love a comparison picture, here is Michael at 16 months old and J at 21 months old wearing the same costume! 5 years apart!

Halloween 2015

This year for Halloween, Michael wanted to be a Ninja Turtle! But he didn't want to wear a costume. He only wanted to wear his shirt and shell that he got for his birthday.

We went to Trunk or Treat at my parents church on Wednesday night and then trick or treating on Saturday night with Leilani.

Michael ended up with a ton of candy!! Mommy and Daddy are helping him eat it all! 😛

And this is too cute not to share. Michael through the years!

Carving our pumpkin

Ever since we bought a pumpkin, 3 weeks ago, Michael has been asking when we could carve it. Well this weekend we finally carved it!

He wanted our pumpkin to have a scary face, so he drew out what he wanted it to look like.

I love a 5 year olds version of scary!

Daddy has the job of carving, while I get to sort through the guts and pull out all of the seeds for roasting.

Michael was so happy with how it turned out and loves to go light it every night.

Just a side note, but as I was elbow deep in pumpkin guts, this overwhelming feeling of nostalgia came over me and I was flooded with memories of my childhood. All of us sitting on our picnic table in upstate New York, drawing our faces, dad carving the face, us kids pulling all of the guts out. All of it was wonderful! Happy memories from childhood!

Halloween 2013

We started Halloween week off by carving our pumpkin.

Michael was really excited about carving a jack-o-lantern.

But he didn't want anything to do with touching the guts.

Them he kind of lost interest while we were cleaning it out. Once Andrew started the actual carving, he came to check out what was going on.

The finished product!

We got to celebrate Halloween on Wednesday and Thursday.

Wednesday afternoon we went to the Halloween party at the library. They had snacks and a costume contest and fun activities. Michael was most excited about all of the cookies he got to eat!

Wednesday night was trunk or treat at Grandma and Papa's church.

We walked all the way around the church and then hung out in the back of Papa's truck.
Henry and Zoe were there too!

On Halloween day, we went to Granny's for their fall festival. They had a bounce house, costume contest, trick or treating, and face painting. Michael was only interested in bouncing in the bounce house. After they put it away, he decide to get his face painted.

He chose a fish or as he called it, "Nemo." He sat so still the whole time. This was he first time getting his face painted.

After Granny's, we went to Mimi and Papa's house for trick or treating around their neighborhood with Maggie.
All ready to go.

They had a great time together.

It didn't take long before he was done, and ready to head back to the house. He had a bucket full of candy and I think he was ready to eat some of it.

We had a fun Halloween and Michael really got into saying "trick or treat" and was so excited about all of the candy!

Boo in the Zoo - 2013

After a very full day at sky top, we drove to Greenville for Boo in the Zoo. Mimi and Papa came with us too!
Michael was very excited about "saying trick or treat" and getting candy. After the first piece of candy was put in his bag, he looks at me and tells me he is hungry and that he NEEDS to eat his candy! Little booger! I gave in and let him have it.

He was so funny walking around the zoo. He kept asking for us to take his picture next to things. Which I gladly obliged.
I have a picture of him on this lion from every trip to the zoo!

He really wanted a picture with this big cat!

The lions were actually awake and walking around!

And with these pumpkins, he had to get as close as he could.

Mickey Mouse pumpkin was also at the zoo!

This is another picture we get every time we are at the zoo.

It is so nice that Michael is out of his not wanting to take pictures stage! I much prefer this smiling little boy!

Our little family!

We had a lot of fun, and most important, Michael had a blast and can't wait for Halloween.

Trick or "Treatie"

We had such a fun day today!

Michael got to wear his Dinosaur costume for most of the day, and he loved it!

The celebrating started at the Library Halloween party in the afternoon.

They had snacks, candy, crafts and a costume contest!
Michael didn't win the contest, but he had a great time at the party.

From the library, we went with Sarah, Henry, and Zoe to the outlet mall.

I practiced with Michael what to say, and every time he would say, "Trick or Treatie" it was so cute, I didn't correct him. We also practiced saying Thank You.

A ton of stores were participating, so this was a great place to go, and it wasn't crowded at all.

When we got home from the mall, we went to a couple of our neighbors houses. Then we went inside to eat really quick, so as soon as daddy got home from work, we could head back out.

The only other place we went was Grandma and Papa's church for Trunk or Treat, but Michael got a ton of candy! He has so much candy, I guess Daddy and I will have to help him eat it ;)! Michael definitely understands Halloween this year, and how much fun it is!
