A visit with Santa!

On Sunday we went to Cabella's to see Santa. There was no one there, so no line to wait in. Michael walked right up, sat on his lap and told him what he wanted; More cars!

And the official Santa picture!

Christmas Eve 2014

We had such a wonderful Christmas this year. Everything is so magical and exciting for Michael. He talked about Santa daily, but we also kept the focus on Jesus, and the reason we get to celebrate Christmas.

This is just the first of many Christmas posts.

Christmas Eve was spent at the Wolff's house with lots of family. We had a wonderful dinner, the kids had a visit from Santa, the adults played Dirty Santa with gift cards, the kids got to decorate cookies, and everyone had a great time. Here are just a few pictures of the festivities.

A Visit with Santa

On Sunday, we went to Cabela's to visit with Santa. It was great. There was hardly any line, and Santa spent a lot of time with each of the children. Michael walked right up to Santa, sat on his lap, and told him what he wanted for Christmas. He asked for a Spin Car ( a remote control car), some race cars (hot wheels) and a bow and arrow.

Here is the picture that they took, which was free by the way.

And here are the ones we got.

We will definitely go back to Cabela's for all of our visits with Santa.

Christmas Morning At Home

Michael woke up around 8:00 Christmas morning. We were hoping he would sleep a little later, since it was so late getting to bed for all of us. But Michael snuggled in bed with us for a little while, and then we tried to get Andrew's butt out of bed. He would sleep all day, if we let him. I went downstairs and got the video camera ready, and put the casserole in the oven.

Then it was time for Michael to come down stairs!

I was so busy taking a video of him coming down, I completely forgot to take any pictures until after he was half way through opening his gifts.

The first thing he did, was walk over to the big box, and rip into it. We didn't even have a chance to tell him to wait. We had wanted that to be his last present, but he wanted to see what it was! He loves his new bike!!

We all opened presents, and Michael loved playing with all of his new toys!
Daddy got some new sneakers!

The boys got some pirate swords, and they jumped right in sword fighting!

I was pretty excited about my new heating pad! The things you ask for as a mom!

New planes blocks!

Opening his stocking!

He was so happy he got his blue knife! You can see it in his left hand.

He was not excited about his blue chap stick. Mommy thought that since the outside was blue, it would count, but I was quickly corrected and told that, "it's actually white, not blue!" just look at that face!
After  we opened presents, and ate breakfast, we went outside in our pj's so Michael could ride his new bike!

 He loves it!!
It's a good thing he had some new mittens in his stocking, because his little hands were cold!
And mommy and daddy froze!
Then we had a last minute visit from Santa!! It was pretty exciting to have a special visitor. Santa said he forgot some of Michael's gifts, and wanted to make sure he got them. A candy cane, some chocolate coins, and a wiener dog! A couple of days before Christmas, Michael said that he wanted a wiener dog in his stocking! We were not going to get him a real one, so Santa brought him a little ornament
Michael and Santa!

We had such a great Christmas Morning! We relaxed, played with new toys, and napped! We had to get ready for the Cox Christmas Extravaganza that night!

Santa!

Today we went to see Santa!!

Michael was really excited about seeing him, but was a little confused about what was going to happen.
You see, Michael really wants a Dusty Bike for Christmas. So he thought after we went and saw Santa, that he would get the bike. He kept asking where he could ride his Dusty Bike when we got home, and if it was warm enough outside to ride it! I had to explain to him that we were only going to tell Santa what you wanted for Christmas, and that he had to wait till Christmas Day to see what Santa brought him. After a little explanation, he seemed to understand a little better.

He went right up to Santa, and sat on his lap. He answered all of Santa's questions, although we couldn't hear him because he talks so quiet, and the sales lady was being really loud! But he was happy to see Santa, and we got a great picture!

And here he is with Santa every year.
Last year we didn't take him to see Santa. Having the flu the week before Christmas really throws everything off and I kind of dropped the ball. Oh Well, at least he has a picture with Santa! My favorite is his very first Christmas. He was such a sweet little baby, and smiled so big at Santa!

Visit with Santa

Yesterday we took Michael to visit Santa at the mall. He wasn't too excited to be sitting on his lap, but he never did cry. Here is a little video I made from yesterday.

Merry Christmas!

Thanksgiving Weekend in the Mountains

For Thanksgiving weekend, we traveled to the Georgia Mountains to spend the holiday with some of Andrew's family. I had never met most of them, and the ones I had met, it was at my wedding, 6 years ago. So, We met tons of new people, and they were all so excited to meet Michael. Believe it or not, I did not take one single picture Thanksgiving day! I can't believe it. We had a wonderful day, and ate a lot of food.

On Friday morning, we got up early, so we could ride the Santa Express on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway.

It was such a fun little train ride.

Michael got to meet Rudolph and Santa!

He loved looking at all of the lights, and out the window at the trees.

Thanks Poppa and Mimi for the fun train ride!

It was so cold on Friday! We were so thankful that someone had given us a gift for Michael, and in that gift was a hat and mitten set. It came in very handy.

Friday afternoon, we spent back at Brenda and Doug's house hanging out with the family. I wish I had taken more pictures of everyone.

We had such a wonderful time, and we are already looking forward to going back again next year.
