Baby Party

On Friday night, my friends and I all got together for a baby party. Three of the  four of us have become mothers all within 5 months of each other.
It was so much fun to have all the babies together. In a few months it will be close to impossible to get them to all sit still long enough to get a picture of them together. Here are some pictures from our fun night.

I love how Michael is looking right at the camera.
I'm so blessed to have such wonderful friends, and to all be going through the same thing at the same time is so great.

Michael is 2 Months Old!

I can't believe Michael is already two months old! These past two months have just flown bye. He has grown and changed so much. I can't believe how much babies change in such a short amount of time. We continue to be so grateful that God chose us to be his parents. What an honor and blessing it is.Here is what Michael is up to at two months old:
- He is still such a happy baby. He smiles all the time, especially when we kiss his face and tickle him.
- He has laughed a couple of times, but he doesn't laugh consistently yet.
-He has started to coo and "talk" a lot.
- After two months, he still have his beautiful dark hair and it is even getting longer in the back. I'm so excited that it never fell out. Hopefully we are past that point, and his hair is here to stay.
- Just this week, he has started sleeping really well at night. He has slept anywhere between 7-9 hours each night.
- He is still sleeping in the cradle in our room, but we are planning on moving him to his room this weekend. I know he will do fine, I'm just not sure how I'm going to handle it.
- He is still wearing size one diapers.
- He is in size 0-3 month clothes.
- He is eating 5-6 ounces at every feeding and is such a good eater.
- He weighs about 11 pounds, but we will get his exact weight when we go to the doctor in a couple weeks.
- He is 23 inches long
- We are starting to get on a good schedule, and he takes 2 naps a day.
- He loves his swing, and falls asleep very quickly when we put him in it.
- He is not a fan of the bouncy seat, but he tolerates it for about 10 minutes at a time.
- He continues to be a very content baby. The only time he gets fussy, is when he is hungry.
- He went on his first day trip up to the mountains to go to a pumpkin patch. He did wonderful, and slept most of the trip. We look forward to going back to the pumpkin patch every year.
- He goes back to the doctor on October 18th for his 2 month check up. At that appointment he will start getting shots. We have decided not to give him all of his shots at one time, so he will get one shot each month, instead of 5 shots at one time.
Michael is the joy of our lives, and we are so proud to be his parents.

Our Trip to the Pumpikin Patch

This past weekend, my Mom and I took Leilani and Michael to a pumpkin patch in Hendersonville, NC. It was a beautiful day, and we had a wonderful time.
Warning - Picture overload Grandad's Farm

Isn't he cute in his little overalls?

I just love these little cutouts

We had a wonderful time, and I can't wait until Michael is old enough to enjoy doing all of these things. This time he slept through all of it.

Completed Nursery!

YEAH!! We are finally done with the nursery, and I love how it turned out!
This is what you see as you walk in the door.
I know the chair is big, but at 2am, comfort is the most important thing.
His book shelf and closet.
A close up of the crib. I love his bedding!
His name blocks that I made for him.
Here is the changing table / dresser.
Just a couple of the pictures from his newborn photo shoot.
My Bible study teacher actually saw this in Marsalls and told me about it. It was the only one and only thing like it there.
Leather plaid wall hangings (see below for the story on them)
Another picture of his book shelf. I built this myself!
Inside his closet. It is getting more and more full.
And the most important thing that makes this nursery compete - A Beautiful Sleeping Baby Boy!
In case you are wondering, here is where we got everything.
Bedding: Pottery Barn - Madras Nursery Bedding
Name Blocks - Made with love by Momma
Michael Canvas - Marshalls
Plaid Wall Hangings - Coach (I used to work there and they were used as a display. When they were done with them, they were going to throw them away, and I asked if I could have them. I have held on to them for over 6 years. I knew they would be used one day!)
