Lucy's Blanket & Hat
I made a special blanket for my new niece, Lucy. Sarah requested "butter yellow" and ivory.
I am really happy with how it turned out. I decided for the hat, to put a pink flower, so it would show up a little better than the yellow would.

Gray & White Crochet Baby Blanket
My MIL asked me to make a baby blanket for her take to a baby shower. I was happy to make one.
They requested blue and white or gray and white. I started on a blue and white one with yarn that I already had. Well, I ran out of the blue and couldn't find anymore at the store, so I had to start all over and decided to get gray and white. It got a big chunky yarn that was super soft. I figured it would be a good winter baby blanket. I really like how the gray and white turned out. I've never used gray before, so I was pleasantly surprised. It was very "boyish".
And I had enough yarn left over to make a little hat. It's perfect for those newborn days, when you want to make sure their little head stays nice and warm.
MIL said that the blanket was a big hit at the shower and they all loved it. I'm so glad!

Finley's Blocks and Blanket
After Julie picked out her bedding, she decided pink and turquoise would be good colors for Finley's blanket and blocks.
I love how the blocks, blanket and hat all turned out! The colors are so cute together. I hope Finley likes them. I'm so glad I finished them in time for Finley's arrival.

Baby Blanket
Here is the latest crochet project I have been working on.
It is a baby Blanket for my friend Jessica. Her new little baby girl will be here sometime in March.
I also made a matching hat. I really like how it turned out.

I tried using a different pattern to make the flowers, and they were much easier this way, than the way I used to make them.
I have her the blanket this morning and she loved it! Can't wait to see her all wrapped up in it.

Michael's Blanket
I decided I wanted to make Michael a crochet blanket that would be big enough that he could use it for a long time. His other blanket I made very quickly to send to him when he was born. He has outgrown that blanket, so I set out making him a new one.
I started making the blanket right after his first birthday, and finished it last night. So it took about 4 months to complete. I love the colors! They are very much boy colors and this should last the rest of his life. (I still have the one my mom made for me when I was a baby.) The blanket measures 4 1/2 feet long and 3 1/2 feet wide. It is about the same length as a crib mattress, but wider. It will be great once he goes to a toddler bed.

Clemson Blanket
Even though it was different colors than I am used to working with, I think it turned out great! I can't wait for little Coleman to be here to enjoy his cozy blanket.

Sneak Peak
Here is just a sneak peak at my latest crochet project.
The colors are Clemson orange and purple. I made this blanket for Julie's baby. Julie and her husband Steve are huge Clemson fans. Little Coleman will be making his appearance sometime in June and we are all excited to meet him. After I give the blanket to Julie, I will be posting more pictures.

My Largest Crochet Project
A little back story: When my sisters and I were all born, my Mom made us each our own crocheted blanket. About 3 years ago, she taught me how to crochet with just a basic stitch. Well, last summer, I asked her if she would teach me how to make a blanket like the ones she made for each of us. She had said it was the first pattern she ever learned how to crochet, and probably one of the more difficult ones. So, she taught me the pattern and I made a small baby blanket for one of my nieces. While making that blanket, my Mom mentioned that she would love a blanket like that, but using brown and turquoise. I took that as my cue to make her a blanket. I started the blanket last fall to give to my Mom as a Christmas present.
Well, for Christmas she got half of a completed blanket, with a promise that I would complete it.
Well, fast forward 1 year, and it is finally done. This is, by far, is the largest project I have ever undertaken. While working on it, I timed myself to see how long one row took to complete. I am a pretty fast crocheter, but each row took 30 minutes! And there are 56 rows of brown and 56 rows of turquoise! That is 112 rows, times 30 minutes = 56 hours!
That is a lot of time and love put into this blanket, but it was all worth it, because my Mom loves her blanket. The finished size is 6' X 4'! I gave it to her on Friday for her birthday.
Yes, the same blanket for two gifts, almost a year apart. What can I say, it was big enough to count as two gifts.
After I was finished, I wished I could have kept it for myself, it was so warm and comfy. If I start now, by next Christmas I could have one for me.
