Happy Birthday Zoe!

I'm really late in posting this, but last Saturday night, we celebrated Zoe's 2nd Birthday. Here are some pictures from her Frog Princess birthday party. Mom made the cake. Isn't it so cute? Here is Zoe watching a movie with Elise sitting next to her.

And the only other picture I got: Charlie with his Grammie.
I made Zoe some name blocks for her birthday. I think they turned out really cute. Her name was so easy to do, since it is so short.
Happy Birthday Zoe!!

Shriner's Circus

On Thursday, I went to the Shriner's Circus with my family. We went last year too.
Papa, Lindy and Leilani watching the show.
Will, Lindy and Charlie
Charlie and Becky enjoying the circus.
Here is Jalen enjoying a funnel cake, and Charlie giving him a strange look. This year, instead of lions, they had bears. They did all sorts of things, like pushing each other in a buggy, riding a motorcycle, walking on their hind legs, and somersaulting around the ring. They were really cute. At intermission, my Dad, Charlie, Will and Jalen went and got their picture taken with the bear.
There were also two giant elephants. Henry rode the elephant, but I wasn't able to get a picture.
We all had a great time, and look forward to going again next year.

Productive weekend

What a productive weekend!
First, let me tell you about how many miles I walked.
On Friday afternoon, I walked 3.7 miles.
Saturday I walked 2.3 miles.
Sunday I walked 2.3 miles.
Total miles walked this weekend: 8.3!
Miles left to Hilton Head: 264.7 - I'm on my way...
**Note*** I walked another 2.3 miles this evening, so the total miles left is even lower now!!
*****
Saturday was Charlie's Birthday Party, Pictures to come in a separate post.
*****
Also on Saturday, I worked really hard on a special project. Here is just a sneak peak. I can't show you the whole thing, since it is a gift, and I can't give it to the person for a few more weeks. But I will be posting pictures and a brief tutorial how to make it, after I have given it to the person.
*****
Sunday, I cooked something I have never cooked before: Pot Roast!! I used the Pioneer Woman's recipe, and it did not disappoint! Here is the link, in case you would like to try it. It was super easy to make, and very good. Sorry, no pictures. Pot roast isn't really that pretty, so I didn't take any pictures, but my stomach didn't care how it looked.
So, that was my weekend in a nutshell.

Snow Day Pictures

It snowed/iced this past weekend, and Clara was at my house spending the weekend with me. It was really neat to see snow through a child's eyes. It wasn't fun, however, to play in the snow at 6:30 am when she got up. She was so excited, she couldn't sleep. So she went outside and played, while I watched from the front porch in my pajamas and bathrobe. These pictures were taken later in the day after I had time to wake up and put on some real clothes. Molly and Toby were happy to have someone to play in the snow with too.
Here is a quick video of Clara sliding down my driveway.

It's a Girl!!

I'm an Aunt Again! Today, my sister Kelly gave birth to her 4Th child. The Baby Girl was born around 11:15 am weighing 7lbs 13 oz. They named her Elise Kelly. I love the name! Here is a picture my Mom posted on Facebook.
The neat thing about this baby, is that no one knew the sex of the baby, except me! A few months ago, Kelly auctioned off the envelope that contained the ultrasound pictures that would tell what the sex was. My bid was one pack of diapers in every size until the child is potty trained. That totals about 5 packs of diapers, or $65.00. My Aunt Shelly, in California, also wanted to get in on the news, so she paid the $65.00 and she knows also. I have been keeping this secret for so long, I'm glad that it is finally out. Along with finding out the sex of the baby, I also go to pick out her going home outfit!

Here are the blankets and hat I crocheted for the new baby. Kelly had told me that if it was a girl, she wanted a purple blanket, so this is the first blanket I made. It is a dark purple color, and is super soft and cuddly.
I decided to make a second blanket this past weekend, that was more pastel colored, but it is really soft too, just not nearly as fuzzy.

I love making little girl hats with the flower. They are so cute, especially on a baby.

I am going to the hospital after work to see the baby, so I will have tons of pictures over the next few days, so check back. It's so exciting to have a new baby in the family. Hopefully it will be my turn next.
