Billy Graham Library

Last night, my friend Jennifer and I went to the Billy Graham Library. It was beautiful all decorated for Christmas. They had a live nativity scene with real animals! A Donkey, Sheep, and a Camel. They were doing horse drawn carriage rides too. There was also a special exhibit featuring Graham family Christmas cards through the years. If you are ever in the Charlotte area, I would highly recommend visiting the Library. Here is a picture I took with my iPhone.

It's a Girl!!

I'm an Aunt Again! Today, my sister Kelly gave birth to her 4Th child. The Baby Girl was born around 11:15 am weighing 7lbs 13 oz. They named her Elise Kelly. I love the name! Here is a picture my Mom posted on Facebook.
The neat thing about this baby, is that no one knew the sex of the baby, except me! A few months ago, Kelly auctioned off the envelope that contained the ultrasound pictures that would tell what the sex was. My bid was one pack of diapers in every size until the child is potty trained. That totals about 5 packs of diapers, or $65.00. My Aunt Shelly, in California, also wanted to get in on the news, so she paid the $65.00 and she knows also. I have been keeping this secret for so long, I'm glad that it is finally out. Along with finding out the sex of the baby, I also go to pick out her going home outfit!

Here are the blankets and hat I crocheted for the new baby. Kelly had told me that if it was a girl, she wanted a purple blanket, so this is the first blanket I made. It is a dark purple color, and is super soft and cuddly.
I decided to make a second blanket this past weekend, that was more pastel colored, but it is really soft too, just not nearly as fuzzy.


I love making little girl hats with the flower. They are so cute, especially on a baby.

I am going to the hospital after work to see the baby, so I will have tons of pictures over the next few days, so check back. It's so exciting to have a new baby in the family. Hopefully it will be my turn next.

Christmas Card Photo Session

On Sunday, My Sister Sarah took our pictures for our Christmas card. We went to Limestone College to take the pictures, since everything was decorated so nicely for Christmas. We brought the dogs too. That was Sarah's first experience doing a portrait session with dogs. They were kinda crazy, but she ended up getting some great pictures. These are just a sneak peak at some of the pictures. We had a great time, even though it was freezing and the dogs were crazy.

Show us your life - Christmas Trees

Over at Kelly's Korner, is Show us your Life - Christmas trees. I put up my trees this past Sunday, and am so excited to show them off. This is my main Christmas Tree in the living room. It is a real Douglas Fir Tree. We have had a real tree every year since we've been married. This one is the biggest we've ever gotten. My ornaments are just a good variety. I don't have a "theme" or a color scheme. I have several that have special meaning. Like this one from Hamburg. My Jennifer gave this to me last year for Christmas when she was living there. It's really special now that I have gone to Hamburg. This ornament I got at Buckingham Palace when I was in London earlier this year. I got each one of these ornaments for my fur babies for their first Christmas. This tree is made from kudzu, and my friend Jessica's Mom made it. I blogged about it last year when I got it. I have it sitting on a small table in my entry way.

The last tree is my small ceramic tree that I painted several years ago. I have it sitting on top of my china cabinet. When I was little, we had a tree just like this, so when I saw it at the pottery store to paint, I had to get it to continue the tradition.

Our trip to Florida

Andrew and I had a great time in Florida this past week. It was fun spending time with his whole family. On Thanksgiving Day, we had the opportunity to drive over to Disney for the day. It was very crowded, but this would be our last chance to use the annual passes we got last December. After checking out the new DVC Resort, Bay Lake Tower, which was beautiful, we went to the Magic Kingdom.Being Thanksgiving Day, we had to have a Turkey Leg. The park was so crowded, we had to wait close to an hour to ride Pirate of the Caribbean. That is Andrew's favorite ride, so we ride it first every trip. That is the only ride we went on, because it was so crowded. We walked around the Magic Kingdom, and then went to find somewhere to eat Thanksgiving Dinner. We ended up at our "home" resort, Saratoga Springs. We ate at the Turf Club. I had the Pork Roast, and Andrew had the NY Strip. Everything was very good. I'm sorry, but I forgot to take any pictures!
After dinner we went to Hollywood Studios. There, we did something that neither one of us has ever experienced at Disney. We went to the The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights. It was incredible. The buildings were covered from top to bottom with Christmas lights. Every 10 minutes the music starts and the lights "dance" to the music. At the end, it actually snows!! What a neat experience. Here are some pictures of the lights. (Sorry for the poor quality, pictures were taken with my iPhone.)

After that, we went to get some Coffee for Andrew and a milk shake for me, and drove the hour and half back to Tampa. What a great Thanksgiving Day!

The rest of the weekend was spent with his family just hanging out. It was great to spend time with Family, and I'm glad we were able to make the trip down.

The Blind Side - My Review

I Loved it! Such a good movie. It was such a heartwarming movie. I laughed and cried. I would highly recommend it to anyone. I love Sandra Bullock, and she was great in this movie.
I think I'm going to get the book to read. I've heard that the movie is different from the book, so I would like to see what all they left out, or added to the movie.

I will praise God's name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving. Psalm 69:30 I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving! We have so much to be thankful for. Let's remember to give thanks to God for all of our many blessings.
