Vacation - Day 2

This morning started with packing our stuff, so we could move to our new room. We had reservations for Brunch at 10:15. It was a buffet, and it was wonderful. Here are just a few pictures of the plates of food that Andrew got.
After brunch, we changed into our swim suites, and headed to the pool. The weather was perfect today. Blue Skies and hardly any clouds. At 2:30 we got a phone call saying that our room was ready, so we packed up our beach bag, and went to check out our new room. This is what we saw as we entered the room.
Yes, That's the ocean right outside our balcony. How cool is that?!?!

This room has two queen beds instead of one bed and a couch.

Here are Andrew and I enjoying our Ocean View!

After checking out the room, I headed back to the pool, and Andrew unloaded some stuff from the car, and took a little nap. I ended up staying out in the sun a little too long, and got a little red. We had to make a run to CVS to pick up some Aloe for my sunburn. For dinner, we went to the other restaurant here on the property. It's called Sonya's and it is the nicer restaurant here. I got the tenderloin fillet and Andrew got the Cowboy Rib eye steak. We shared a tomato and mozzarella salad as an appetizer and then shared a creme brulee for dessert. Everything was delicious! Sorry, no pictures from dinner. Now we are in our room, watching the finale of Desperate housewives and about to go to bed. The weather forecast says rain tomorrow, but I hope we get a few hours of sunshine.

Vacation - Day 1

Hello from Vero Beach!! So, Yesterday was the day! Andrew had to work from 7-5, but ended up getting off at 3:30. so, we decided to leave a day early, and drive to Charleston, so he could see his old boss. I came in from outside, and this is what I saw:
He surprised me with a Diamond Wedding band for our 5 year Anniversary. Our actual anniversary isn't until next Saturday, but he wanted me to have it before we left for vacation!
It's so pretty... Don't you think!

So, We ended up leaving around 6:00 pm and got to Charleston around 10:00. We didn't have hotel reservations, so we went to a few different hotels, until we found one with an available room. Then we got up this morning, and headed to the Chick-fil-a in Mt. Pleasant to eat breakfast with Josh, Andrew's old boss. We were there till almost 10:00, then it was time to get on the road, and head to Florida. The GPS said it would take about 7.5 hours, and with our stop for gas and lunch, it took us right at 7.5 hours. The resort is beautiful. We checked in at the front desk, and went to bring our stuff to the room. Here is our room.

We can actually see the ocean from our balcony, but this is not our ocean view room.

We will only be in this room for tonight, we switch to our Ocean view room tomorrow. After dropping our stuff off at our room, we walked around the resort and took some pictures. I love that the resort is right on the beach! We had to make a quick trip to Publix to pick up a few things, and then we went to dinner. We ate at a restaurant at the resort called Shutters. Andrew got the crab cakes, and said they were very good. I got the BBQ Chicken Flat bread and we got the spinach & Artichoke dip as an appetizer. Everything was very good. Our waitress asked if we were celebrating anything, and since this is our anniversary vacation we told her that our anniversary is next Saturday, and she brought us some buttons to wear that say "Happy Anniversary" and two pieces of cake. Today was a wonderful first full day of vacation. I can already tell that this vacation is going to be wonderful.

A Blanket for Sweet Baby James

My friend Sara, is having her first child in June. I am going to be on vacation when she is having her shower, so I gave her the blanket I made, on Mother's Day.
Yes, it is very similar to the one I made for Jonathan's baby. When I asked what colors they were doing the nursery in, they were both doing the same color scheme. I didn't want to do two blankets that were identical, so they are the same colors, just different pattern.

200 Posts!

I can't believe it! It seems just like yesterday I was celebrating my 100th post! Time flies when you're writing a blog... I may have posted this picture before, but I'll re-post it because it's fitting for today.

What!? Another Baby Blanket???

Yes, Baby shower number three was this weekend. My good friend from youth group, Sheila had her shower on Saturday. She is also having a boy, and is doing the nursery in green and brown. I decided to go with green and beige for the blanket. I hope baby Noah likes his blanket.
Sheila and me after she opened the gift.

One week closer to fresh Veggies

Here are the latest pictures of my garden. Since it rained almost every day last week, my plants look like they've been given a shot of steroids.

This time last year

This is where I was, this time last year
(Puerto Vallarta, Mexico)

And this is what I was doing.

But only 5 more days till I'll be doing that again, just not in Mexico this time.

All around the Mulberry Bush...

I have a huge Mulberry tree in my back yard. It is completely covered with berries. They aren't completely ripe yet, but they will be in a just a few more days. Last year I made some yummy jam from the berries and I plan on doing the same thing again this year. But I might make a cobbler or pie too. I will post the recipe and pictures after I make something with all the berries.
