The smaller of my two Hydrangea bushes is in full bloom! My large hydrangea bush has lots of leaves, but no flowers... I'm not sure what is going on with that. I think it is so neat that I have purple and pink flowers on the same plant.
Remeber this post from October? Well, My Christmas Cactus is still blooming. That is 7 months of blooms. I think this might be the last bloom though. Look how tiny it is... and it's the only one.But as you can see, I'm getting a lot of new growth, so I can't wait to see how many blooms I will get this fall.
The weather has been so crazy lately. Last weekend, it was beautiful, with temp. in the upper 70's. Then it got cold on Tuesday and Wednesday, and we even had a frost warning!! But my flowers survived! I'm not sure if it ever got to 32 degrees, but it was close. All around town, people were putting blankets on their Azalea bushes. Here are some pictures of my Tulips and my Dogwood Tree. I look forward to their blooms every spring.
I love the month of June. My Hydrangea is in full bloom and my waving petunia hanging baskets are overflowing with flowers. My Vegetable garden is also doing very well, but I will save that for another post. I guess I get my green thumb from my dad. He is always doing something outside with plants. Either planting, or watering, or weeding or at Lowe's buying more flowers. I think it drives my mom crazy how much money he spends on flowers every year. But I can relate. You spend a lot of money at one time, but get to enjoy the flowers all summer long.
