One week closer to fresh Veggies

Here are the latest pictures of my garden. Since it rained almost every day last week, my plants look like they've been given a shot of steroids.

This time last year

This is where I was, this time last year
(Puerto Vallarta, Mexico)

And this is what I was doing.

But only 5 more days till I'll be doing that again, just not in Mexico this time.

All around the Mulberry Bush...

I have a huge Mulberry tree in my back yard. It is completely covered with berries. They aren't completely ripe yet, but they will be in a just a few more days. Last year I made some yummy jam from the berries and I plan on doing the same thing again this year. But I might make a cobbler or pie too. I will post the recipe and pictures after I make something with all the berries.

Strawberry Hill, USA

Yesterday, Andrew and I went to Strawberry Hill, USA. When we left the house, it was slightly overcast, but as we were eating lunch, the sky fell out, and it poured...and poured... and poured... A little rain never hurt anything though. We were still able to buy our bucket of strawberries and a few other produce items. When I got home, I started the process of making fresh strawberry jam. If you want the recipe, you can go to this post, from last year.
I only made a single batch this time. But I'm sure I will be making some more, very soon.

The Baby Blankets continue...

Here is the baby blanket I made for a co-worker, who's wife is having a baby. I made it to coordinate with the nursery bedding. You can see that there is a tiny bit of red on the wagon.
I really like this blanket, and it was a lot of fun to make. The three different colors coordinated so well together, and it's not your typical "Baby Blanket" colors. I really hope little JT Bray enjoys it.

Still Blooming

Remeber this post from October? Well, My Christmas Cactus is still blooming. That is 7 months of blooms. I think this might be the last bloom though. Look how tiny it is... and it's the only one.But as you can see, I'm getting a lot of new growth, so I can't wait to see how many blooms I will get this fall.

Women of Joy Weekend

This weekend was women of joy. We had an incredible weekend full of laughter, praising God, insightful preaching, and spending quality time with the people I care most about. Seeing Kirk Cameron was pretty cool too. My favorite speaker from this weekend was Priscilla Shirer. She was such a great speaker, and really spoke the Word of God. Carol Kent, and Lisa Harper were both incredible too. Travis Cottrell lead worship, and he did a fantastic job. Saturday night, Casting Crowns did a concert just for us. Here are just a few pictures from this weekend.
